The Legend of Zelda | Boss Guide

Dungeon 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

Dungeon One

Green Dragon
This boss fires two rounds of three fireballs before taking a rest. These fireballs spread around the room, so to escape them stay at the very left of the screen and run between them. When he rests, run over to his head and hit it a couple of times with your sword and run back to the left side of the screen. He will then start his attack pattern and you should repeat these steps a couple of times and you'll have him cracked in no time.

Dungeon Two

Twin Dodongos
There are two Dodongos in the boss room, so while you attack one, try and avoid the other's fire attack. Basically, you have to get the Dodongos to swallow two bombs each. To do this, leave a bomb just in front of the walking path of one of them, and as they walk over it they'll eat it. Its best to get one out of the way before trying to take on the second, so you have as little of the added worry of a second attack as possible.

Dungeon Three

Mandandlas
While avoiding his four heads, try and place a bomb between two of them. You can alternatively bash away at the heads with your sword. Either way, you'll be injuring the heads but each time you get rid of one the speed with which Mandandlas moves increases.

Dungeon Four

Gleeok
Another four-headed monster! This time, the heads will detach themselves from the dragon's body and fly around the screen. Avoid them as best you can, and get your hits in with your sword when you have the opportunity.

Dungeon Five

Digdogger
Using the whistle on this one will split the Digdogger up into loads of little Digdoggers who can be harmed with your sword (the big Digdogger can't). Kill as many as possible with your sword, before they reform. If they do reform, use your whistle on them to split them up again and repeat.

Dungeon Six

Gohma
Avoid the giant spider's attacks until it opens its eye (until which point it is invincible). Line up a shot at its eye and fire with your arrows.

Dungeon Seven

Green Dragon
This boss fires two rounds of three fireballs before taking a rest. These fireballs spread around the room, so to escape them stay at the very left of the screen and run between them. He will then start his attack pattern and you should repeat these steps a couple of times and you'll have him cracked in no time.

Dungeon Eight

Gleeok
Again, the heads will detach themselves from the dragon's body and fly around the screen. Avoid them as best you can, and get your hits in with your sword when you have the opportunity.

Dungeon Nine

Ganon
Ganon is initially invisible, so start slashing the air to find him! While doing this, you'll need to avoid the stone statues he sends after you. You'll need to hit the King of Evil four times before he reveals himself, which allows you to send a Silver Arrow through his blackened heart...
