15 New TP Screenshots

Friday 10th November

Nintendo have released 15 new screenshots for Twilight Princess, which you can see at GoNintendo, that show off more of the early sections of the game. These do contain some mild spoilers, but as they mostly show the Goron Mines, the dungeon used in all the public Zelda demos, there’s nothing to be scared of.

Zelda “Children in Need” Auction

Friday 10th November

Those of you living in Britain will be very familiar with the annual Children in Need event - that time of the year where the BBC give Terry Wogan a dusting off and hold a night of entertainment in a bid to raise record-breaking sums of cash towards helping disadvantaged kids across the country. These children can range from the homeless, the abused, the drug addicted, and the terminally ill.

This year, British magazine RetroGamer has teamed up with the saving grace of the CDi Zelda games, artist Rob Dunlavey, to offer a very unique set of items, the proceeds of which will go directly to Children in Need. The winner of the eBay auction will win a framed, signed reproduction of some of the backdrops from Link: The Faces of Evil. They’ll also receive a framed, signed A4 cover letter where Rob explains the creative forces behind the art. A copy of RetroGamer Issue 27, the CDi Zelda special, will be signed by the editorial team, and the winner will get factory-sealed copies of Dunlavey’s discography;

  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Sargon Chess
  • Laser Lords
  • Mutant Rampage - Body Slam
  • Link: The Faces of Evil
  • Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon

The auctioneers will ship worldwide, so there’s no excuse for the die-hard Zelda fan to miss out on this item! The bidding war will be quite fierce (as I just found out the hard way), so if you want to do an amazing thing for charity and receive this unique package, prepare yourself for a tough fight. Happy bidding!

The official Zelda site, Zelda Universe, has been completely revamped to showcase Twilight Princess. Of note are the fantastic “Inside Zelda” articles that have been printed in Nintendo Power over the past year, and the promise of further behind-the-scenes coverage, detailing how Nintendo progressed from concept to finished product. There’s also a new wallpaper for those after a fresh desktop.

TP Demo Footage (Spoilers)

Thursday 9th November

Found at Jeux Video. The demo footage shows off what you can do with Twilight Princess. The sad part is, if you don’t speak French, then you won’t be able to understand what they’re talking about. However, you can still enjoy the video! The way he controls Link is very smooth, and looks very natural. He uses slight hand motions when he wants Link to do sword techniques. It all looks great, and it just reminds us of how close TP really is! I hope you all have your copies reserved.
