IGN Confirms Zelda Movie

Tuesday 1st April

Ok look, I’m not going to be cruel. This is an April Fool’s prank, but what a prank. IGN have faked an entire trailer for a pretend Zelda movie, costumes and special effects and all. I can’t imagine how much this cost them.

Whoah. That has to be the best April fools’ ever. It would inevitably suck if it was a real movie, but you need to give them credit for wasting all that money on a joke!

The Ocarina - Tuesday 1st April 03:02 pm

Are you kidding me? IGN did a hell of a job showing that it would be possible to pull off a Zelda movie. If anything, that was a second motive to making the trailer. Obviously, the trailer wasn’t perfect, but it lacked where IGN purposefully wanted to show that it was a prank.

Maybe I’m thinking a bit far ahead, but IGN actually showed that the Zelda movie could be done.

The Ocarina - Tuesday 1st April 03:31 pm

Upon reflection and talking with Likely Story, she feels it would be best done as a mini-series, not a movie. Clearly, we can’t fit all of our beloved Zelda in one movie, but four to six one-hour shows? It wouldn’t be so cramped.

Also, Link’s tunic does not suit a movie. I don’t care how iconic it is, it looks terrible in every fake / indie trailer I’ve seen.

Wow…that was actually really neat. I especially love how Link never talks. I find that a Zelda movie/series is something that I generally dread, but would watch anyway with very low expectations. But maybe that’s just because the cartoon series left such a horrible taste in my mouth…

LinkyP00 - Wednesday 2nd April 04:29 am

wow that was freakin amazing
thank god i read it on this site first because i would have died if i thought it was real
Just reading the title of this news made my heart skip a few beats
I always think about what a Zelda movie would be like. If anything it would have to be directed by Shigeru Miyamoto, I guess he would have to learn how to direct first or something. And nothing can be changed at all. Sheesh just thinkin about a Zelda movie brings a tear to my eye. What a beautiful sight that would be. *tear*

LinkyP00 - Wednesday 2nd April 04:45 am

dang i cant stop watching this dumb trailer
does it remind anyone else a lot of lord of the rings? If there was a Zelda movie i would like it to be original. And I also loved how Link did not say anything. But come on you gotta keep the tunic. Everything stays the same. They also mixed Ocarina of Time a little bit with A Link to The Past, arguably the two best Zelda games. If anything not a mini series, but a saga like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. I know this is all talk but come on, that would be pretty freakin sweet though right?. And i would rather the movie be set on one Zelda game. Preferably The Ocarina of Time (thebestgameever=P). Anyways this is just gunna get me all riled up and ill be up all night thinking about the concept of a Zelda movie and how great it would be. It may be weird, but still ever so great. =P
But the main question that we have to ask ourselves is, would we rather want a new Zelda game? or a fancy dancy Zelda movie? An extremely hard choice that I am glad i do not have to make. Boy, I am getting so ahead of myself right now….LOZ RULES!!!!!!!!! =P

Slench - Wednesday 2nd April 02:42 pm

Chaz - Thursday 3rd April 12:42 pm

“Why is everyone so uglyyy?”

I hate to admit it, but I was thinking the same thing. I didn’t think this was a prank at first and I was really upset for a second. I was also hoping they’d show the scene from Link to the Past where link finds his dad dying and gets the sword.

I must say though, the enemies look great

Slench - Thursday 3rd April 01:58 pm

this is so lame… I went to the site and tried downloading it but I had to register so I did and even when logged in it still wants me to log in when klicking on the download thing…

LinkyP00 - Thursday 3rd April 05:52 pm

Link’s uncle dying, not his dad. =P you gotta get this stuff but true all the enemies did look pretty beastly. Word up YO =PPPPp
