At the E3 Nintendo Developer Roundtable, one last (possible) Zelda tidbit was pushed our way. When discussing Wii Music, Nintendo said they would make use of songs in the public domain when selecting musical tracks for the game such as “Yankee Doodle Dandy”, but they will include some licensed tracks. Which licensed tracks would come the cheapest to Nintendo? That’s right, their own. Considering at the E3 press conference, a (embarrasing) Wii Music demonstration used the Super Mario Bros. theme, I think it’s safe to say that there will be some Zelda music in the game.

Nintendo fans will also be pleased to hear that during this roundtable, Shigsy confirmed that a new Pikmin was in the works. So - after E3, you have your new Zelda, you have your new Pikmin, you just know absolutely nothing about them. Satisfied?

It’s funny, the one game out of the Wii series I’d been looking forward to the most looks to be the most disappointing. I’m going to wait till I hear more about it before I pass final judgment on Wii Music though.

If a professional drummer finds it hard to keep a beat on the drums on Wii Music (believe me, I’m a drummer, that solo was awful), I don’t think anyone else will be very good at it.

Where can I find out more about this new Pikmin?

Glad to hear the rumored new Pikmin is in the works. We haven’t had a new game in that series since the last leap year.

Espy — yeah, the drumming SUCKED. I couldn’t believe how shoddy of a product Wii Music appears to be. I’m more inclined to keep saving up my money to buy Rock Band, despite the obvious lack of ability to jam in Rock Band.

Fuck off, Bocky. You’re not getting Rock Band. You’re getting a PC so we can play TF2.
