A Wii Fit sequel, really? Was there really a need for more than one? Oh, and a little bit more Spirit Tracks, but they hardly show any footage from the game that we didn’t already know would be in the game. Wow. The Mario Galaxy sequel actually looks promising, though — hopefully they try to make it more different from Galaxy, though, so it doesn’t feel like the same game with different levels and whatnot. Uniqueness, people… Nintendo seems to be lacking that. The New New SMB looks okay, though. Mario & Luigi looks pretty neat, but that subtitle? Whoa… I wish they would’ve just called it M&L 3.
My only really criticism is that it looks like there are too many sequels coming out — like, direct-sequels (Galaxy, NSMB, Spirit Tracks). It’s like Nintendo has run out of ideas and just wants to rehash their games as many times as possible for the sake of their new technology. It bothers me… severely. I almost wish they’d just ask the fans what they’d like to see in a new game.
Apparently Miyamoto is going to be doing something around 5 PM Pacific (about an hour from now for me), so I pray, pray, *pray* it is Pikmin 3. Seriously. So hard. While I am overall rather disappointed, mostly just at the lack of Kirby Wii or MOTHER3 on the DS like the Destructoid psychic said there’d be, Pikmin 3 might just be their saving grace.
So come on Nintendo. Bring on ‘da Pikmin!
