BUSHES / POTS

Bushes and pots are seemingly inconspicuous, but no matter where you find them - dungeon, garden or house - destroy them! Yes! The people of Hyrule are just crazy about where they keep their rupees, and by throwing pots around people's houses (searching meekly inside just isn't customary) or ripping plants apart, you'll find all sorts of goodies. It's not just rupees you'll find, either; health, bombs and arrows are all up for grabs.

CAVES

Hyrule's got hidden caves dotted all over - down wells, behind cracked walls, in soft mud - and no-one seems to mind you digging or bombing your way through the land's crevices. All for the best, really, because caves hold the best loot in all Hyrule, such as heart pieces and untold riches.

CHESTS

Chests have been left all over Hyrule. It might be a prison cell, a house or a dungeon, but no matter what, chests are always unlocked. The custom in Hyrule is to take all of a chest's contents, making sure you show as little regard for the owner as possible.

FISHING

Fishing is a popular past time in Hyrule, as its both rewarding and relaxing. You'll find a fishing pond in Lake Hylia, where fishermen from all over the world come to fish for a Hylian Loach. It's said that one can only be caught by using a secret, and highly illegal sinking lure. Without one, you'll probably end up with a much-derided catfish. Meow.

FORTUNE TELLERS

For a small (or sometimes not-so-small) fee, a Fortune Teller can give you helpful information about your future. It's not known how they know your every step, but when asked they've been known to mutter something like "all legends are scripted..."

But how would I know what that means? I'm just a kid!

GREAT FAIRY FOUNTAINS

Great Fairies reside in these magical fountains, hidden all over Hyrule. It's worth finding them, because if you stay truthful they've been known to enhance your magic, upgrade your magic, or enlarge your wallet/bomb bag/quiver.

If you're ever weary from battle, pop in to see one. They'll replenish all your health, and provide you with Health Fairies for you to bottle.

HOUSES / RESIDENTS

The residents of Hyrule are exceedingly kind! You can just storm into a house and its occupant will show no sign of panic, or any other expected emotion towards a strange young trespasser armed to the teeth with weaponry. None. Pretty much all of these steel-nerved residents are more than welcoming, and ready to have a chat about anything.

Many of these people will, as mentioned, be more than happy for you to smash all their pots and loot all their chests.

KEYS / DOORS

If you prefer to adventure into the more dangerous areas of Hyrule, like the numerous dungeons, you won't get very far without knowing about keys and doors. It's pretty simple; small keys can be used once, but you'll find plenty, and big keys can be used more than once, on things like big chests or Boss rooms.

RUPEES

Money makes the world go round, and Hyrule's no different. That capitalist pig-dog of a King could just designate jobs, creating a kind of authoritarian wonderland where Business Scrubs are replaced by Ration Scrubs, and Tingle becomes the next Hero.

Anyway, Hyrulian currency is the Rupee, and different colours denote different values. Traditionally, Green rupees are worth one, Blue, five, and Red, twenty rupees, but throughout the ages bigger and different coloured rupees have been worth higher amounts.

SHOPS

Hyrule is home to many different business; bars, bazaars, bomb shops, potion shops, item shops, mask shops, curiosity shops, game parlours, shooting ranges and more. They are all related by the fact they'll swap items and services for shiny, coloured jewels.

SIGNS

Signs are handily dotted all across Hyrule. They're pretty self-explanatory devices; they'll tell you where things are, or how something works, and once you're done with them, you can cut them up to bug the next Hero to climb Death Mountain.

TRIFORCE

Perhaps the most important and legendary item in all Hyrule's history, the fate of the Triforce is the fate of the Kingdom. Locked away in the Sacred Realm, each part, Courage, Wisdom, Power, is locked into the Hero, the Princess, and Evil King respectively.

It is said that whoever touches the Triforce has a wish granted; King Daphnes Nohansen wished for Hyrule to be locked away forever, Ganon wished for Hyrule (though he received a warped replica in the Sacred Realm), and Link and Zelda have both wished for Hyrule to enter a golden period.

WITCHES/POTIONS

In the early days of Hyrule, Potion Mixers used Chu Jelly from Chu Chus to create their potions, but as magic was slowly rediscovered, Witches started to use other ingredients. Most Witches and Potion Mixers are hideously under-prepared; asking you to pay a hefty fee, despite asking you to also find their ingredients!
