Inhabit:

 |
The Anouki are an arctic
race who inhabit the
isolated Isle of Frost.
One hundred years before
their discovery by the
Hero of Winds, they were
at war with a monster
race named the Yoot. The
two made a peace treaty
which, because of the
lack of trust between
the races, led to their
permanent separation,
splitting the Isle in
half. |

Inhabit:

|
Having once enjoyed
great wealth under the
rule of the Sea King,
the neo-Egyptian Cobble
Kingdom was long
decimated by the time
the Hero of Winds
discovered it. Little is
known about the kingdom,
other than their
stunning black and gold
pyramids. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule,
Termina |
|
 |
In Hyrule, the Deku are
a loose band of
unintelligent merchant
enemies. However, in the
alternate dimension of
Termina, the Deku have
evolved further. They
live under a monarchical
political system with a
king and a castle to
protect them in the
Southern Swamp.
The Deku possess
cowardly and paranoid
personality traits. When
Link, the Hero of Time,
first made contact with
Termina's Deku tribe, they
refused to cooperate
with him until he
infiltrated the castle using a Deku
Mask. They lack
rationality and
patience; it was thought
that a monkey had
kidnapped the Deku
Princess, and until Link
had proved otherwise,
the Deku were planning
to burn the monkey
alive. |

Inhabit: All

|

Fairies can be found all
over Hyrule, in many
different shapes and sizes. There
are regular fairies (pictured)
who, in early Hyrule,
were
bestowed upon Kokiri
children when they came
of age to guard and
protect them. There are also
humanoid Great Fairies
who reside in shrines
around Hyrule, who grant
blessings that enhance
weapons or expand
item storage. In Termina,
each of the Great
Fairies had been split
into 15 smaller Fairies
by Skull Kid, though the
Hero of Time soon
resurrected them.
The most abundant Fairy
is the Healing Fairy.
These can be kept in
bottles, and will burst
out and revive the
carrier if he loses all
his health. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule,
Termina |
|
 |
The Gerudos are a highly
secretive race who
survive by stealing off
others. Wherever you
find a Gerudo tribe, you
can be sure that they've
created an extensive
fortress that's highly
resilient to
infiltration. In Hyrule,
the Gerudo live in the
desert west and have
built their fort out of
compressed sand,
while in Termina the
Gerudo constructed their
fortress behind a
protective cliff face,
and were known to
terrorise the
neighbouring Zora tribe.
The Gerudo are a purely
female race, though once
every century a male is
born to
become Gerudo King.
Ganondorf was one such
birth, but the Gerudo
disowned him when they
witnessed the
destruction he wreaked
on Hyrule. In later
periods of Hyrule, the
Gerudo are sparsely
seen, leading to
speculation that they
either abandoned the
land for farther shores,
or slowly died out. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule,
Great Sea,
Holodrum,
Labrynna,
Termina |
|

The Goron are a race of
kind, though highly
honourable and initially
distrustful warriors. Wherever Gorons live, they
construct rock mines
for subsistence. While
some have been known to
grow to extraordinary
sizes, most are a little
taller than the average
human. By nature,
they're slow, heavy,
lumbering creatures with
a primal intelligence, but
their thick skin
provides enough
protection for them to
curl up in a ball to
move quickly and
powerfully, making them
formidable foes.
In Hyrule,
the Gorons live in Goron
City near Death
Mountain. Over the
years, their mining
technology advances
greatly, influencing
industrialisation in
other parts of Hyrule. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule,
Calatia,
Great Sea,
Koholint Island,
Termina |
|

The Hylian people are
held in high reverence
throughout Hyrule
because of their pointed
ears (that some say
allow them to hear the
words of the Gods) and
their ability to use
magic. They are
different to regular Hyrulians
who constitute an
increasing percentage of
the overall population
as time goes on, making Hylian blood a rare
blessing in later
times.
The Royal Family and the
bloodline of the Hero
are always Hylian, with
each generation of Link
and Zelda show a
persisting and
exceptional power. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule,
Calatia,
Holodrum,
Koholint Island,
Labrynna,
Termina |

Hyrulian people are
regular citizens of the
world. Comparable to
humans, Hyrulians derive
their name from the term
"Hyrule" which is used
to describe both the
individual country and
the world that
encompasses other
countries such as
Holodrum and Labrynna.
Physically, Hyrulians
only differ from Hylians
in their rounded ears,
similar to the
difference between
humans and elves.
Metaphysically, however,
Hyrulians are said to be
further from the Gods
than Hylians,
highlighting the
predestination of
Hylians to both rule and
save the Hyrulians. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule |

The Kokiri are a
peaceful child race who were
once protected by the
Great Deku Tree. Kokiri
live exclusively in the
forest, as it is
foretold that if they
leave its protective
sphere, they will die.
When the Hero of Time
banished Ganondorf from
one of the timelines,
some of the children
ventured outside the
Forest successfully.
However, if Kokiri go missing in
the Lost Woods, they
turn into Skull Kids.
Each Kokiri is given a
Fairy companion when
they become of age,
however they physically
stay in child form
throughout their lives.

The Korok are the
"evolved" form of the
Kokiri. They live under
the protection of
Hyrule's second Great
Deku Tree, and while the
Kokiri were bound to the
Forest, the Korok's
mission is to travel the
world planting the seeds
of the future in the
timeline where Ganondorf
returned to Hyrule
unopposed.

Inhabit:
Hyrule |
|
 |
Known to Hyrulians as
the mythical "Picori",
the Minish are a race of
small rat-type
creatures. They live all
over Hyrule, from houses
to forests, but are too
small to see with the
naked eye.
The legend says that in
a time of great darkness
in Hyrule, the Minish
descended from the
heavens and bestowed a
special sword and a
magical light force to
the Hero, who used it to
drive back evil. Since
then, Hyrulians have
held a Picori festival
in honour of their
saviours every 100
years.
Centuries later, a
Minish wizard known as
Vaati became a serious threat to Hyrule
when he used his magic
to seek the sword and
the light power, which
was said to grant the
wishes of whoever
possessed it. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule |

The Oocca reside in
Hyrule's City in the
Sky. The bizarre
chicken-human hybrids
are said to be closer to
the Gods than even the
Hylians, and some even
believe that they
created Hylians.
While they once enjoyed
relations with the
Hyrulian Royal Family,
they now live in
isolation from the world
below. |

The Rito tribe are an
evolution of the Zora.
When the Great Flood
consumed Zora's Domain
with saltwater, the
great Valoo granted them
the gift of flight. A
Rito is not born with
wings, but Valoo bestows
them unto a tribesman
who has come of age.
They reside on Dragon
Roost Island, the hub of
the Great Sea's postal
service. |

Inhabit:
Hyrule |

The Sheikah were a small
race highly trained in combat.
They lived and died in
the name of the Hyrule
Royal Family, though by
the age of the evil
Gerudo King Ganondorf,
only Zelda's maid, Impa,
was left alive, though
she had a descendant,
Impaz.
Impa saved Zelda's life
in Pre-Flood Hyrule when
Ganondorf overthrew the
monarchy and spread
tyranny across the
country. Over the seven
years that passed
without the Hero, she
taught Zelda in the ways
of the Sheikah until the
Princess herself became
her alter-ego, Sheik, to
avoid detection from
Ganondorf. |

Inhabit:
Subrosia |

The Subrosians live
under the surface of
Holodrum, in a molten
world called Subrosia.
No-one knows what they
look like under their
mysterious cloaks.
Their bright, beaming
eyes help them see in
the darkness of burning
Subrosia. They spend
their time mining
valuable ore which can
be used as an
underground currency, or
can be mixed to create
new, stronger items.

Inhabit:
Labrynna |

The Tokay are a race of
primitive lizards from
Labrynna's Crescent
Island. They've never
left the island,
meaning that little is
known about them, while
they know little about
anything else. A bigger fan
of food than the
rock-guzzling Gorons,
meat is the staple of
their diet. |

Inhabit:
Twilight Realm |
|

The Twili are the
corrupted souls of
discarded Hylians,
banished to the Twilight
Realm after abusing the
gift of magic in the
name of obtaining the
Triforce and
establishing dominion
over the Sacred Realm.
After centuries of
living in the void
between the light and
dark realms, the Twili
became a pacific, almost
zombie-like race who
feel little emotion.
They also evolved
physically, with long,
drooping features that
offer little
articulation. Grey skin
responds to the ethereal
bloom that neither gives
nor takes life, neon
markings the last
remnants of vitality.

Termina |

The Zora race flourish
in warm freshwater on
a healthy diet of
fish. To reproduce, they
lay eggs which must be
kept safe, warm and
together if they are to
hatch. They are
characterised by
elegance and artistry.
In one timeline, the
Zora faced extinction
twice. The first,
Ganondorf froze their
Domain until the Hero of
Time broke the curse.
The second, the God's
Great Flood destroyed
the Domain, flooding it
with salt water. They
were saved, in a form,
by the great Valoo, who
bestowed upon them the
gift of flight. |
