A Brave New World

In the time between Link III ridding the world of all evil in 1710 AC, and the birth of Link IV in 1886 AC, the Kingdom of Hyrule prospered. It extended outwards, from it's insulated position in what would become South West Hyrule (which was sheltered by Death Mountain among other landmarks), to include other unclaimed territories. The new Hyrule was a loved, vast expanse of land. The people were proud - of the toil their people had gone through, the sacrifice, and the eventual resurrection of Hyrule.

However, not everything was happy in the land of Hyrule...

The coming of a new Hero is always a bad sign. The legends of old had been either lost or distorted through the ages - and while Ganon was a fresh memory in the world's mind, it wasn't content to dwell on it. Link IV was born in Calatia in 1886 AC, exactly 14 years before trouble brewed in Hyrule once more.

South West Hyrule, old Hyrule, began to be overrun with monsters. The Evil King spoke of in legends had mysteriously returned. He stole the Triforce of Power and unleashed his evil minions across the land and begun his search for the remaining parts of the Triforce. The Princess Zelda had sensed Ganon's revival, a power derived from her ancestors, so she split the Triforce of Wisdom across the land, hiding those pieces in the darkest, dankest remnants of a fallen Kingdom. Impa, her maid, set off on a quest to Calatia to find the Hero of whom Princess Zelda spoke. The Hero arrived, and his name was Link.

Successfully collecting the parts of the Triforce of Wisdom, Link arrived at Death Mountain to take on Ganon. The sages long gone, the Triforce of Courage seemingly disappeared, it seemed that there was no choice but to destroy Ganon once and for all. He did so, independently, as no other Hero had yet been able to. This traveller from Calatia became the Hero of Calatia, though he hadn't finished protecting the land yet...
