Weapons

Bombs can be used to blow holes in cracked walls, and to damage any enemies within its blast radius. When you have thrown the bomb using the A button you can set if off quickly by pressing A again.
Your boomerang's main use is for collecting far away items. Weaker enemies are killed by this on impact, and slightly stronger enemies are stunned for a brief period of time.
As long as you have some arrows, you can fire them in the bow. To build up some power, hold A for a long time before you release it.
The shield can be used to deflect enemy attacks and to turn over others.
The sword is the weapon that you battle through the game with.

Rupees

If you collect a Black Rupee, then you will lose a lot of rupees. These are scattered across the screen for you and your team mates to avoid.
There are several shapes and sizes of rupees, and they are all worth different amounts:
Small Green: 1 Big Green: 50
Small Blue: 5 Big Blue: 100
Small Red: 20 Big Red: 200
On their own, Rupee Shards are not worth anything. However, when you combine 4 of them they make a very valuable Gold Rupee.

Other

Fairies replenish lost health when collected.
The Gnat Hat shrinks you down in size so that you can get through small holes in the wall. This is useful for many puzzles.
Collecting a heart refills a heart container in your health meter.
Heart Containers extend your health meter by an extra heart for the duration of a level.
These small keys are used to open doors in the dungeon that you are in.
Every time you use this Magnetic Glove, its polarity changes. You can use it to either repel or attract yourself to certain blocks, and you can also attract other players with it.
These Pegasus Shoes are used to charge up steep and slippy slopes, and also to use the charge attack which is where you run along with your sword extended.
Roc's Cape is used to jump over small gaps. It can also be used by jumping over larger gaps by keeping your finger held down on A after a jump.
When you complete an area on the World Map, you receive on of these Three Keys. When you collect all three you are allowed to enter Vaati's Palace.
